Meg Weaver
Meg Weaver is senior researcher at Traveler and a blogger for IT, drawn to stories about animals, social justice, and cultural happenings throughout the Spanish-speaking world and here in the U.S.
Born and raised in eastern Pennsylvania, I've studied in Seville, Spain, where I danced some lousy flamenco; gone on an archaeological dig in Snydin, Belarus, before running afoul of the law by overstaying my visa; and taught English to school kids in Ulugbek, Uzbekistan, before gloriously dropping out of the Peace Corps. An anthropologist by predilection and education, I dream of one day opening an "eco-hacienda" in Peru with a working farm, voluntourism ops, local foods, llamas and alpacas, trekking, and cultural exchanges galore. In the meantime, when not fact-checking and blogging, I enjoy gardening, biking, jogging, playing with my cats and brown dog, hiking, movies, and carne asada.
