Help Pick the Adventurer of the Year

| Comments (0)
National Geographic Adventure's "Best of" issue comes out next month and with it, the opportunity to help choose the Adventurer of the Year. On Adventure's website, you can read the bios of ten finalists and then rank each on a scale of one to ten. There are no standards or set formula you must follow--just rank the nominees based on which characteristics you feel make for a superb adventurer.

potter-450.jpgThe finalists are an eclectic mix of accomplishments and causes--and their mere nomination makes you reconsider standard definitions of "adventurer." So, who will you vote for?  Khadija Bahram, an educator in Afghanistan who started an army of teachers; John Grunsfeld, a NASA astronaut who repaired the Hubble telescope at zero gravity; or scientist Albert Yu-Min Lin, an explorer searching for the lost tomb of Genghis Khan? With seven other equally impressive nominees, it'll be a tough choice. Click here to see all ten finalists and to vote. The Readers' Choice winners will be announced January 19.
