You must have one of the following documentation for entry in to U.S. land and sea ports:
- U.S. or Canadian passport
- Trusted Traveler Card (FAST/EXPRES, NEXUS, or SENTRI)
- U.S. Passport Card
- State or province-issued Enhanced Driver's License
Getting the appropriate paperwork could take several weeks to process, so make sure you've got everything you need before you take that trip!

I am planning on going on a cruise this august with my husband. my passport is in my maiden name. would that be sufficient document or do I have to change it? where would i change it and how long will it take?
My passport is currently on its way by mail to the Chinese Consulate to get a visa for an upcoming trip. What if I wanted to enter Canada (and re-enter the US) in the meantime? Am I not free to do so (i.e. required to stay in the US) until my passport comes back? Apparently the long-term solution is to have a Passport card in addition to a passport - ?
i am abroad now. my passport will expire 2 months AFTER i arrive back to the states. is there any problem getting back home? someone menitoned to me that if my passport will expire less than 6 months before i return, i will have problems entering the states. is that true? or will i be able to come home safe and sound and renew when i get back?
