If you're like us, you're probably already thinking about your Memorial Day weekend - which officially kicks off the summer travel season. And if you're looking for deals (and who isn't?) we've got some great ones. Senior editor Norie Quintos, who assembled our "50 Tours of a Lifetime" cover story on our May/June issue, could have just stopped there, but she just put together a fantastic cheat sheet on our website with some of the best tour deals around. "It's a buyer's market, and it won't last forever," she writes. Check out the entire list here.

Boundless Journeys' upcoming Bhutan client offered some food for thought on the current state of people's willingness to travel...

I am planning a trip to Bhutan in October with a company called Boundless Journeys. This particular trip was featured as one of 50 tours of a lifetime by National Geographic Traveler. Bhutan is known as a country where the gross national product is happiness. Michael J. Fox visited recently, and publicly said that the symptoms of his disease were diminished when he was there.

In an effort to sign up others, Boundless Journeys has currently reduced the trip cost by $500. Yet, I am currently the only person that has signed up for the trip. To their credit, I was told that no matter what, the trip would still go on. As a single woman, part of the reason that I choose trips like this is to be with others that are also interested in this type of off the beaten path travel.

Bhutan: A Journey Into the Peaceful Kingdom
October 13-24; November 17-28; Save $500; Now $3995

I can only conclude that people are afraid to spend any money. If everyone continues to stay home, it will take a very long time until the world economy starts to turn around. Those of us that can, need to do our part to stimulate interest in travel. Our dollars help others to make a living, and to continue to have jobs. Besides going on a trip of a lifetime, I think that I am doing my small part to keep the world economy moving.

Sincerely,
Hope Miller

An annual edition I keep for years. I started collecting your "top" trip issues about 10 years ago. So far I have checked off three or four. When our son is older that will change.

The bridge is in the Bobbie Burns in the Canadian Rockies. Check out cmhhike.com for more details. It is an experience that is like none other in North America. The mountain guides at CMH went to Europe to learn the trade of building via ferratas. This is part of a full day mountain experience that is very, very remote. About 1000 sq km of mountain terrain few have ever been to.
