  • Greening for Birdie: Jalousie Plantation in St. Lucia just introduced hybrid solar-powered golf carts to its 192-acre resort, becoming one of the first resorts in the Caribbean to do so.

  • Through June 11, Philadelphia's Alexander Inn is offering select rooms for $1 per night (offer is good for one night between Sunday and Thursday).

  • Stay in the Obama Room: Kenya's Basecamp Explorer, a lodge located at the edge of the Masai Mara National Game Reserve, played host to then-Senator Obama in 2006. Now, guests can sleep in the room where he stayed, adorned with a bed, stools, and a photo of Obama with the staff.

  • U.S. Airways announced plans to offer direct flights from Philadelphia to Tel Aviv beginning in July. It will be the first airline to offer flights to Israel from Philadelphia.
