From grabbing a plate lunch at Makakoa Enterprises to taking a hula class at the Joy of Motion dance studio, we've got a list of eateries, events, and opportunities that will help them make them feel at home.

We are definately going to see the Kennedy-esce celeb coverage for the Obama presidency. Between the great story and the 24 hour cable news...this is just the beginning.
Hawaii isn't a bad spot to start warming up for the presidency.
Thanks for posting. It's always interesting to hear how Hawaii and the aloha spirit spreads to other destinations.
I never thought that Obama's Hawaiian link would become a big thing. Not like the Bush-Texas or the Clinton-Arkansas connections.
But it's great to see a list of some of the Hawaiian cultural activities and dining in DC.
Shame on you, Jon! Of course it's a big thing! :) I miss you -- I need to go visit your blog!
Thank you, Marilyn, for posting this and for sharing it with us back in Honolulu!
Hmmm... I'm right here but reading your post made me hungry. There's something wrong with that picture!
It's been years since I've been to DC...and I've yet to go to Hawaii. Great suggestions for ways to get the best of both worlds :)
