Her Excellency welcomes the Genographic Consortium

Pierre, Himla, Gov.JPG
The Governor of New South Wales, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir, AC, CVO invited the Genographic consortium to her beautiful residence overlooking the Sydney Harbour and Governor's gardens last night.

Her Excellency welcomed the team of scientists to Sydney and accepted a National Geographic Image Collections book and a Genographic Public Participation Kit.   Providing us with stories on the diversity of Australia grounded in the Gadigal people,  Bashir called the project "fascinating" and said she is looking forward to participating.  Sarah Laskin (National Geographic) expressed a heart-felt thank you on behalf of the "Genographic mob" including the global Genographic science team, National Geographic and IBM and the Waitt Family Foundation.
