North Africa/Middle East Research Center
The North African/Middle Eastern team led by Genographic principal investigator Pierre Zalloua is currently tackling several projects:

•Studying the lineage of the Armenian population in Lebanon
•Tracing old lineages found in the Levant region (A and B haplogroups) in comparison with old lineages strictly found in Africa
•The J1/J2 sister clades split: an indication of possibly two routes for out-of-Africa migration


India Research Center
The Genographic team based at the University of Madurai in Madurai, India under principal investigator Ramasamy Pitchappan is currently sampling in the Amritsar region, between the River Beas and Sutluj, Jalandhar, and Patiala.

CNN's "Identity Quest"

Watch Genographic participant Dave Reed share his migration story on CNN's Nightly News with Campbell Brown. Reed tells CNN that "participating in the Genographic Project has given me a richer understanding of who I am." National Correspondent Deborah Feyerick decided to join the journey as well, and her Genographic results were revealed in Part 1 of CNN's series "Identity Quest."

Melbourne residents explore their deep ancestry at Journey of Your Genes lecture.

In the continued celebration of Darwin, join Genographic Project director Dr. Spencer Wells and Advisory Board Chairman Dr. Simon Longstaff for a free public lecture at The Spot Theatre, Melbourne University on Sunday December 6 at 10AM.

Dr. Wells will present a snapshot of Melbourne's deep ancestry when he reveals the results of one hundred public participants who swabbed their cheeks in early October. Included in this results' reveal are Melbourne identities, Victorian Governor His Excellency Prof. David de Kretser, World Vision CEO Rev. Tim Costello and Olympic hockey gold medalist Claire Mitchell-Taverner.
