Journeying into Our Collective History: San Diego Museum of Man Unveils Genographic Exhibit

The first full scale Genographic Project exhibit in the U.S. just opened! Hosting this interactive explanation of the project is the San Diego Museum of Man, the city's only museum devoted to anthropology.

Participants can actually "walk" their ancestors' specific journey out of Africa with a giant version of our migrations map attached to the floor in the middle of the exhibit. Students (and students at heart) may find the vivid National Geographic photography particularly helpful in understanding how DNA is used to explain our interconnectedness as a species.

In celebration of the exhibit opening, Project Director, Spencer Wells will be presenting a special lecture that is free and open to the public at the Charmaine and Maurice Kaplan Theater at the nearby San Diego Natural History Museum on November 11, 2009 at 6:30 PM - RSVP required.

Visit the Museum of Man website to learn more about visiting this presentation of Genographic. And to RSVP for the November 11th lecture, contact: 619-239-2001, ext 10 or mtaylor@museumofman.org.

We encourage local residents and people visiting San Diego to come explore this presentation of Genographic.
