Good morning, CNG Community. We wanted to let you know that we put the following issues to the Development Team for answers and/or solutions and will be back with responses as soon as we have them. Thank you for taking the time to ask your questions and for providing such great details and descriptions when you describe your experience. This helps us immensely.
By the way, thanks go as well to those of you who have shared your own workarounds, ideas and suggestions.
Here's what we've added to the list of known issues:
- Ability (or instructions) for copying DVDs to different directories, partitions, or external hard drives
- Windows 7 user issues related to copying DVDs to hard drive
- Snow Leopard copy-to-hard-drive capability
We'll be back later to close the loop on some other outstanding issues.
Michael, the copy-to-hard drive functionality in Preferences>Options has not yet been activated and the team is aware that people want to be able to choose where they copy their DVDs. If you look through the comments on this blog in various places people have posted their workarounds. Though we have not tested them, you might want to give them a look. In the meantime, we will continue to let The CNG Team know that people are anxious to copy their DVDs to different drives other than C:.
I noticed in your "pipeline" you have •Ability (or instructions) for copying DVDs to different directories, partitions, or external hard drives...
However in the CNG application under PREFERENCE | INSTALL OPTIONS there appears to be a screen that let me point to any storage location for the DVD content. But this doesn't seem to work... What's up?
I searched the registry, and there doesn't seem to be any pointer to the "cache"....
I hope you will soon make it possible for me to put the DVD content on my USB drive, and not require me to put it in the CNG Cache on my "C" drive...
Thanks for the great work.
Michael
