Ar07_0242_3 With the U.S. premiere of Sonam...The Fortunate One, filmgoers were treated to a beautifully shot film by director Ahsan Muzid Ar07_0245_2
that followed Himalayan Monpa yak herders from a remote region in India in a tale of love, lust and repentance. After introductions by Greg McGruder, VP National Geographic Lectures and Public Programs, Francene Blythe, Director, All Roads Film Project and Chris Rainier, Director, All Roads Film Program, the film's director of music, Archana Bhattacharjee showcased her vocal prowess with a moving serenade of traditional Indian textures. Super Amigos!!

Don't look now, but there have been numerous reports of Superbarrios sightings in the vicinity of screenings for the film Super Amigos (Arturo Perez Torres). Indeed "Super" can be appropriately applied to the reception the film received on this night! Amid 2 rapturous standing ovations and chants of social pride from the well attended audience, Superbarrio made a triumphant appearance for an engaging Q&A discussion that delved deeply into some of the hot button issues that afflict this continent's megalopolis'.

And the night was only just getting started...
