A Wino's Hobbit Experience

| Comments (3)
hollandrooms.jpgEvery year, the geek in me tries to sneak in a post about The Lord of the Rings, and, with only a few hours left of 2008, I have managed to make this year's quota.

holland.jpgTreehugger recently reported that a hotel in Stavoren, Holland, is fashioned out of old 3,800-gallon (14,384-liter) Beaujolais wine barrels. Each of the four rooms is wood-paneled (duh) and has a toilet, shower, and TV.

The cost of sleeping in a barrel is a little pricey... from € 111.90 per person (about $160), per night (for one night plus dinner). But if you're looking for the ultimate vino, hobbit-hole experience, this might be it. No word on whether or not their restaurant is BYOB.

Thanks to Treehugger for the tip!
